TLB - The London Bus
The first LOTS newsletter was published in July 1964, becoming monthly from November 1964 and titled 'The London Bus'. As with many publications that followed, the names are usually abbreviated (in this case to TLB) and often followed by an issue number. As of late 2025, TLBs had reached issue 736.
TLB was initially produced at Foolscap size, changing to A4 in 1971, then again to A5 in 1989. Photos have usually been included, these becoming all colour from 2002. In recent years, most issues have contained between 40 and 60 pages.
Each issue gives a summary of route and vehicle changes (such as new deliveries and re-allocations) in the preceding month, along with other regulars looking at aspects such as publicity materials, bus disposals and special services.
TLBs that are 2 or more years old can be viewed/downloaded for free from the archive (see the link on the left). More recent editions are only available to members on subscription.

LBM - London Bus Magazine
While TLB was focused on topical news, a new title was launched in 1972 to provide more photos and in-depth articles on current and historical topics. The London Bus Magazine (LBM) has been produced quarterly ever since and has always been 7in x 9in, with the number of pages growing from 32 to 60. LBM always has lots of photos, mostly in colour since 2003 (apart from vintage views).

LBMs up to 1993 are progressively being added to the archive, where they can be viewed and/or downloaded for free. Many of the issues from 1993 onwards can still be bought from LOTS postal sales, while the latest editions are available on subscription.

An index of all articles that have appeared in LBM can be viewed or downloaded from here.

Review
Starting in 1973, LOTS published an annual review, detailing changes to operations, routes and vehicles at both London Transport and London Country. Until 1992, these were A4 glossy books, with 60-100 pages and lots of photos. The years 1993 to 1999 were dealt with as articles within LBM (see above), while 2000 to 2003 had their own LBM-sized editions. From 2004 the series returned to A4 format and it continues to today, now with around 80 pages and in full colour. Some of the early Reviews (1973-1977 so far) can be viewed/downloaded for free in the Archive, while more recent titles can still be bought from LOTS.

SUPs
The name SUP came about as these were originally described as TLB Supplements. However, in reality the series has included over 200 titles that covered a wide range of topics. There have been some recurring themes (such as bus fleet lists, allocations lists and route working lists) plus a few odd-ball one-offs (such as a detailed look at special bus services during the coronation of 1953). The vast majority of SUPs are now available for free viewing/downloading in the Archive, while the most recent titles can be bought from LOTS.

Fleetbook
Starting in 1987, and every year since (apart from 1989), LOTS has published an illustrated pocket-sized fleetbook, detailing the bus fleets of all operators running in our area (basically London and the home counties). Editions from the past few years can be bought from LOTS.

TLB Extra
A new series of publications was started in 1993 under the name TLB Extra. Each A5 booklet gives a month-by-month summary of changes to the LT (and LCBS where relevant) bus, tram, trolleybus and service vehicle fleets in the given year. Changes covered include deliveries, transfers, overhauls and disposals. Each book also has a collection of contemporary photographs and a brief summary of the main route conversions during the year. The series eventually covered the period 1957 to 1984 and was later extended backwards to include 1948 to 1956. Most editions can still be bought from LOTS.

Other titles
Over the years, there have been a few publications that do not fall into one of the above categories. First up were a number of titles in the early 1970s that were branded as TLB Extras, or TEX. These covered a variety of topics and some were effectively SUPs. All TEX editions can be viewed or downloaded for free on the Archive page. Rather confusingly, the TLB Extra title was later resurrected as seen above.

Another series is the London Route Review, these being A4 illustrated books listing all changes to London bus, tram and trolleybus routes in the given period. Three titles have appeared so far, covering the years from 1934 to 1952.
